Fallen Senior Journalist Kabangira Magande laid to rest

Rukungiri: The Body of a fallen Journalist  Eliot Kabangira Magande was on Sunday 25th February 2024 laid to rest at his home in Nyaruraara cell, Rwakirunguura parish in Buyanja Sub-county.

The late Kabangira magande aka Mzee wa kazi was the Station Manager of Radio Ankole in Ntungamo district for eighteen years and passed on, on Thursday morning last week at Block A level 4, Mulago Hospital where he was hospitalised of prostate cancer.  

During the glum burial ceremony, the Bishop of south Ankole diocese Rt. Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe urged mourners to be trustworthy and use talents as they were given to them by God.

He revealed to mourners that they will miss the services of Eliot Kabangira Magande because he was a very talented person whose passion was in teaching and giving advice to fellows. 

The Rubabo county legislator Hon. Naboth Namanya expressed his sincere thanks to the services rendered by the late Eliot Kabangira magande in the media industry where he started as a humble journalist.

He appealed to the mourners to follow the good example of Eliot Kabangira Magande’s generosity.

He urged parents to take their children to schools they can afford in terms of school requirements rather than selling everything they have to take their children to expensive schools adding that it doesn’t require to come from rich families to be a successful person in life.

Jackie Rwakakooko who represented the directors of Ankole investments companies appreciated the work of Eliot Kabangira Magande for his good managerial duties and working tirelessly after being employed as the manager on a radio which was heading for its collapse to revive its glory. 

Kikyonkyo Eva – wife to the deceased said her husband has been struggling with prostate Cancer for a while until he passed on. She appreciated Hon Mwesigwa Rukutana for employing him.

The late Kabangira Magande died at the age of 70. He survived by fourteen children and thirteen grandchildren.
