Rukungiri District Receives UGX 3.75 Billion for PDM Beneficiaries 

Rukungiri: Rukungiri District has received UGX 3,750,000,000 under the Parish Development Model (PDM) program, set to benefit 3,750 individuals across the district. 

The Rukungiri District Commercial Officer Keithwright Ainebyoona, revealed this on February 17, during an interview with our news reporter at the district headquarters. He explained that each of the district’s 75 parishes received UGX 50 million in the first phase, with each PDM beneficiary receiving UGX 1 million directly to their mobile phones. 

Ainebyoona further clarified that the government has provided an additional UGX 250,000 per parish for SACCO boards to facilitate the processing of the funds. As a result, each parish has received a total of UGX 50,250,000. 

He also announced that the government will send another UGX 50 million to each parish in June, during the next quarter, to benefit more people under the program. 

The district commercial officer urged beneficiaries to use the funds appropriately and avoid any diversion from their intended purposes. He also called on SACCO board members to use the UGX 250,000 responsibly, covering only necessary expenses such as stationery, loan processing, and internet data, since the funds were allocated to support the system used in disbursing the money. 

Ainebyoona encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the district’s development.
