Police Officer on the Run After Fatal Shooting in Kampala 

Kampala: A police officer has gone into hiding after allegedly shooting and killing a motorist in Kampala. 

The incident occurred on December 23, 2024, along Sezibwa Road, located between Sheraton Hotel and State Lodge, Nakasero.

According to a police statement, No. 55915 PC Bahati Charles fatally shot Ssemwaka Julius, the driver of vehicle registration number UAX 480C.  After the shooting, PC Bahati fled the scene with his firearm and is now on the run.. 

The Uganda Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma said that they have commenced investigations into the matter and will share details later. 

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as investigations continue.
