Immaculate Heart Girls School Crowns Beauty Queens at Colourful Pageantry Day

Rukungiri: Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale in Rukungiri Municipality has concluded its annual Immaculate Heart Pageantry Day by crowning winners in various categories during a colourful function held at the school playground.

The pageantry featured competitions in different categories including Miss Immac, Miss Teen, Melanin Queen, Miss Drama, Miss Environment, Miss Faith, Miss Peace, Miss Talent, Miss Ambitious, Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, Little Miss Immac, Heritage Queen and Miss Health.

Lina Abimanya, a S4 student, was crowned Miss Immac. Other winners included Gloria Agaba of S3 as Miss Teen, Prima Akatwasa of S3 as Melanin Queen, Ammaar Nowamani Precious of S5 as Miss Drama, Denise Ayebare of S5 as Miss Environment, Agnes Ahura of S2 as Miss Faith, and Mary Asimwa of S5 as Miss Peace.

Cynthia Abimanya of S5 won Miss Talent, Patricia Ntenyingi of S3 was crowned Miss Ambitious, Elizabeth Kukundakwe of S1 became Miss Congeniality, and Promise Nakyanzi of S5 won Miss Photogenic. Jasinta Gumanawe of S1 was crowned Little Miss Immac, while Maria Igabire Jolly of S6 won the Heritage Queen title and Monic Kabanangi of S6 was crowned Miss Health.

While addressing the gathering, the school headteacher, Sister Sabina Tumusiime, said pageantry helps students to discover their talents, improve leadership skills and prepare them to compete at national and international levels. She thanked all the participants, noting that even those who did not win had gained confidence and valuable experience through the competition.

She urged the students to resume their studies with determination and strive for academic excellence. She also called upon the newly crowned queens to be role models in the school and community and encouraged other students to respect and support them.

The guest of honour, Vastine Kenganzi, the Physical Planner for Rukungiri Municipality and an old girl of Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale, said former students of the school have excelled in different fields around the world. She encouraged the students to remain confident and work hard in their studies. She also urged those who did not win crowns not to feel discouraged, saying that having the courage to participate had already made them special.

Kenganzi further encouraged the students to carry the name of their school with courage and pride wherever they go and reminded them that communities become beautiful through people who positively shape them.

Centenary Bank Rukungiri Branch Manager Brian Kasaija urged the students to study hard and continue supporting one another to achieve their educational goals. He thanked Immaculate Heart Girls School for its partnership with the bank and pledged continued support to the institution.
