Muslims in Rukungiri Urged to Engage in Coffee Farming for Economic Growth

Rukungiri: Muslims in Rukungiri District have been encouraged to invest in agriculture, particularly coffee farming, as a reliable source of income to support their families and religious activities.

This advice was given on March 1, by the head of laity for Bugangari Archdeaconry, Boaz Ruteera, a coffee farmer from Nyankoro Cell in Kashayo Parish, Bugangari Sub-county, during a field workshop at his coffee plantation.

Ruteera urged Muslims and other farmers to focus on a single project instead of constantly shifting from one venture to another. He emphasized the importance of taking necessary risks and utilizing available family land, regardless of its size, to start productive agricultural projects.

He also encouraged Muslims to embrace unity and cooperation with people of other faiths, stating that development is best achieved through collective effort rather than religious division.
