Fishermen Emyooga SACCO Members Urged to Boost Savings and Loan Repayment

Rukungiri: Members of the Rukungiri Municipality Fishermen Emyooga SACCO have been urged to show commitment and love for their SACCO by increasing savings and repaying loans on time.

The call was made by the Principal Commercial Officer for Rukungiri Municipality, Richard Baguma, during the 5th Annual General Meeting held at Nyamayenje Catholic Church in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality on April 25.

In his remarks, Baguma encouraged members to increase their savings by buying more shares and regularly depositing money on their accounts. He also advised those who have taken loans to repay them on time to strengthen and grow the SACCO.

He further emphasized the need for members to put more effort into supporting their SACCO, noting that its success depends on their commitment.

The District Councilor for Eastern Division, Annah Barekye, also urged members to support the SACCO and ensure that those who borrowed money repay it promptly to enable its growth. She commended women who use SACCO loans to improve their homes and pay school fees for their children.

Barekye further encouraged members to develop a habit of saving daily as a way of increasing their financial stability.

The SACCO Manager, Denis Ngabirano, reminded members to repay their loans on time to avoid penalties. He also called upon members to mobilize non-members to join the SACCO in order to expand and strengthen it.
