Educate your children to give them better future days-RDC Nsubuga
Rukungiri: The Rukungiri Resident district Commissioner Steven Bewayo Nsubuga has arged parents to educate their children if they are to have better future days.
His appeal came after the Bwambara sub-county speaker Ahimbisibwe Amzan informed him during the cross–border meeting at Rwenshama fish landing site that some children have shunned schools.
Speaker Ahimbisibwe informed the RDC that some children are deliberately dropping out of schools even when their parents have offered to give them school fees.
He told the meeting that as the sub-county Authorities, they have started arresting children who are dropping out of schools and parents who don’t want to educate their children.
The Rukungiri district Police commander SSP Musa Tibakyira said that it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that the child goes to school and gets educated. He condemned the habbit of some parents who neglect their children’s education saying that they belong to the government.
Responding to Ahimbisibwe’s concern, RDC Nsubuga warned that if a child is not educated, he suffers the consequences when he or she grows up.
The RDC thus asked parents to work hard and send their children to school as a way of creating bright future days for them.
