East-West Home is the Best Association Donates Sewing Machine to Orphan in Ntungamo
Ntungamo: The East-West Home is the Best Association has donated a sewing machine to a 17-year-old orphan, Josephine Ainamani, in Ntungamo District to support her in caring for her family.
The handover ceremony took place on January 2, at her grandmother’s home in Kishenga Cell, Rugarama, where Josephine resides. The event was attended by association leaders, including Chairperson Elias Karuna, Secretary Zubail Barigine, Treasurer Maphias Niwagaba, and Mobilizer Mackline Kyarisiima, among others. The association is based in Murambi, Kantungamo, Rugarama North Constituency, Ntungamo District.
Speaking during the event, Treasurer Maphias Niwagaba, who is also a businessman in Rukungiri Municipality, revealed that the association members raised over UGX 600,000 to support Josephine. They purchased the sewing machine for UGX 450,000 and additional materials, including fabric, to help her start a tailoring business.
Niwagaba explained that the donation was made to honor the memory of Josephine’s mother, Samali Rwabihoogo, who was the founder of the association and passed away last year.
He added that the association, which has over 50 members, is committed to supporting individuals in need, especially in challenging situations

Josephine Ainamani expressed her gratitude to the association for their continuous support after her mother’s death. She also encouraged parents and guardians to allow children interested in learning tailoring and knitting to reach out to her, as she is willing to teach these skills to help them improve their lives and earn a living.
