3 people died in Rukungiri road crashes in September

Rukugiri: A total of 8 accidents were registered at Rukungiri Police Station in the month of September.

This was revealed by the Rukungiri District Police Commander (DPC) SSP Musa Tibakirana while interacting with our reporter in his office on Thursday.

Out of the 8 accidents registered, 3 were fatal, 4 serious, and 1 minor.

DPC Tibakirana attributes the above accidents to reckless driving, driving vehicles in poor mechanical conditions, driving while drunk, careless road-crossing by pedestrians among other factors.

He advised drivers in this rainy season when roads are slippery to reduce speed and use the road signs correctly.

Tibakirana also warned drivers who drive while listening to music to leave the habit saying it diverts their attention.
