North Kigezi Diocese Releases 2026 Primary Seven Mock Examination Results

Rukungiri: North Kigezi Diocese has officially released the 2026 Diocesan Primary Seven Mock Examination results for Church of Uganda-founded primary schools, with a total of 2,913 candidates sitting the examinations.

The results were released on July 22, at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in an event attended by headteachers of the diocesan primary schools, School Management Committee chairpersons, and other diocesan officials.

According to the Diocesan Education Coordinator, Rev. Evas Arinaitwe, 207 candidates passed in first grade, 909 in second grade, 597 in third grade, 734 in fourth grade and 462 were ungraded. Four students attained grade X exams.

Kinyasano Boarding Primary School emerged as the best-performing school with 115 First Grades. It was followed by Kisiizi Hospital Primary School with 17 First Grades, Nyakisoroza Primary School with 15, Kyamakanda Primary School with 13, and Kyatoko Primary School with 8 First Grades.

Rev. Arinaitwe also presented the number of candidates from each archdeaconry. Kakinga registered the highest number with 379 candidates, followed by Nyakagyeme with 248, Kyamakanda with 225, Nyakisoroza and Bwambara with 221 candidates each, Kashenyi with 220, Buhunga with 208, Deanery with 207, Rujumbura with 193, Rubirizi and Nyabiteete with 181 each, Bwanga with 164, Bungangari with 157, and Kyabugashe with 108 candidates.

Rev. Arinaitwe urged headteachers, School Management Committees, and all education stakeholders to intensify preparations for the forthcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). She also commended the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, for his continued commitment to improving education standards within the diocese and restoring the strong academic performance of its schools.

Speaking at the same function, the Chairperson of the Academics Committee for Church of Uganda-founded schools under North Kigezi diocese, Bernard Tumushangye, said the diocesan mock examinations are intended to help schools identify learners’ strengths and weaknesses early enough so that teachers can adequately prepare them for the Primary Leaving Examinations.
