Women Urged to Renew Faith in Christ at North Kigezi Diocese Conference

Rukungiri: Women have been urged to embrace unity in Jesus Christ and renew their faith in God, who is the true source of everlasting peace.

The message was delivered on May 13, by Rev. Debra Tumushabe Ahumuza, the Coordinator of Family Life in Kigezi Diocese, while preaching at the 3rd Annual Women’s Conference of North Kigezi Diocese held at Kinyasano Girls High School in Kinyasano Ward, Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Rev. Tumushabe reminded women that true peace is not found in wealth, jobs, or businesses, but only in Jesus Christ.

She added that peace does not necessarily mean the absence of problems, noting that even in difficult situations, those who remain in Jesus Christ experience overwhelming peace.

Mama Florence Asiimwe, the wife of Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, said the conference aims to spiritually strengthen women who often face challenges such as poverty, family struggles, and emotional burdens.

She emphasized the importance of balancing spiritual life with family responsibilities in order to build, protect, and nurture families through faith-based actions.

Some of the participants, including Linet Akoragye and Moreen Rwakanyinya, told our reporter that they had learned how to strengthen their families by raising children in the fear of God and promoting love in their homes.

The conference started on May 13, and will end on Friday May 15.
