Ven Niwegariho installed as the Dean Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano.
Rukungiri: The Very Ven Amastiko Niwegariho has been installed as the dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in North Kigezi Diocese.
The installation service was presided over by the North Kigezi diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev Onesimus Asiimwe on Sunday May 12 2024 at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, in Kinyasano ward, Eastern division, Rukungiri Municipality.
Bishop Asiimwe charged the Dean Niwegariho to embrace clergy values such that he is not pinpointed by public for acting contrary.
He said that however much every one has weaknesses, he (Installed dean) should desist from evil acts like fornication, alcohol among others. The bishop further urged him to do Godly work including reading the Bible, praying for christians and engaging in fellowships among others.
Bishop Asiimwe also tasked Ven Niwegariho to work hand in hand with the Christians to finish constructing the Cathedral during his term of office which will be marked as his legacy.
The emeritus bishop Dr. Edward George Muhima preaching form the gospel according to St. Mark 3:7 during the service said that many people believe in Jesus Christ but have never received him in their lives.
Speaking at the same function, the Vice Chancellor North Kigezi Diocese, Counsel Isaac Atukunda who was the chief guest asked the dean to co-operate with the Bishop and other church leaders in doing God’s work as well as solving the grievances internally before exposing them to the public.
He challenged the dean to practice integrity in executing his duties because his appointment comes at a time when the country is full of scandals like corruption and homosexuality where he advised the dean to preach against such acts.
Meanwhile, The Very Ven Amatsiko Niwegariho stated that he has been guided by three principals and these are humbleness, Christ loving and putting new developments in place wherever they have worked which has eased their work up to the level he has reached.
He appreciated Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe for his guidance and love and promised to perform his duties diligently.
