Rukungiri’s Christ the King pilgrims arrive at Namugongo ahead of Martyrs’ Day
Rukungiri: Pilgrims from Christ the King parish in Rukungiri district have reached Namugongo Martyrs’ shrine ahead of Uganda martyrs day celebrations on 3rd June 2024.
A group of 35 pilgrims started their pilgrimage journey to Namugongo on 17th May and reached Namugongo martyrs ground at around 7:40am on Tuesday May 28, 2024.
James Mucunguzi, who led the team, told our reporter on phone that their journey was successfully completed without any hindrances.
Mucunguzi revealed that this is the fourth time he is walking to Namugongo not that he is energetic but by God’s grace. He advised his fellow Christians to try pilgrimage until they achieve their goals.
The 82 year old, Topista Korumogo who is the eldest in the group intimated that she decided to walk to Namugongo to dedicate her life to God because he is the one who has authority over it
Meanwhile Military Zadock, one of pilgrims from all saints church Rukungiri in North Kigezi diocese told our reporter that they have reached Nsangi and expect to arrive at Namugongo on Thursday, 30th May 2024.
