Rukungiri religious leaders want government to tighten security after Pastor Bugingo’s shooting.

Rukungiri: Religious leaders in Rukungiri municipality have called on the government to tighten security following the shooting of pastor Aloysius Bujingo of house of prayer ministries.

Pastor Bujingo was attacked on Tuesday night last week by unknown people leaving his bodyguard and driver Corporal Richard Muhumuza dead.

The attack on pastor Bujingo has however left  different religious leaders in Rukungiri municipality scared calling on the government to improve on country’s security for citizens to feel safer. 

Evangelist pastor Gad Katsigazi of warriors of God fellowship in Rwakabengo ward  Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality sympathized with pastor Bujingo and asked him to remain steadfast in the spirit of God.

Pastor katsigazi said it’s the role of the government to protect the country from such attacks by unknown people.

He asked the government to introduce more street cameras  and thoroughly investigate the recent murder of prominent people in the country.

Meanwhile Bishop Grace Okello of Rival mission church Omukakabanda said many people in the country have been gunned down by people traveling on the motorcycles. 

Bishop Okello further said that it is the responsibility of the security agencies to net the people behind these attacks on innocent citizens.

He however said such attacks are carried out for either political or personal reasons.
