Rukungiri Police seizes the killer of Justus Muhwezi

Rukungiri: Police in Rukungiri district are having in Custody William Sebikaru who knocked Justus Muhwezi resulting in his death.

The deceased was the manager at Kings Hotel in Rwobusisi cell, Kyamakanda parish, Buyanja sub-county Rukungiri district.

It’s alleged that Muhwezi a resident of Rwengurijo cell, Rwentondo ward southern division, Rukungiri municipality, was working with one Nabimanya Patience, an accountant of the same hotel who was married to Sebikaru the suspect.

About two months ago, an allegation rose up that Muhwezi, now the deceased, was having an affair with Nabimanya resulting in her husband Sebikaru to start threatening them and one Nabimanya Sadres alias Sandrah, a hotel attendant whom he accused of being the go-between to the two.

On 18^th December 2023 at around 11:30 am, while Muhwezi was on a motorcycle registration number UFM 373V Bajaj boxer heading to work, after bypassing KASI petrol station along Rukungiri-Ntungamo road, Sebikaru followed them while driving his vehicle Toyota Harrier UBH 562 C and intentionally knocked him from behind.

Muhwezi was immediately rushed to Karoli Lwanga hospital Nyakibale in critical conditions where he was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted. 

After knocking Muhwezi, the suspect Sebikaru drove off and has since been at large.

Now the Rukungiri district police commander SSP Musa Tibakirana has informed our reporter that Sebikaru was arrested from his hiding place in Kampala on the 27th December 2023, after a collaborative effort between the police flying squad unit and officers at Rukungiri Central Police Station.

On the morning of 28th December 2023, Rukungiri Police retrieved him from Kampala and are having him in their custody at Rukungiri Central Police Station.  

The case of murder has since been recorded at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB1532/2023.
