Rukungiri district Kadhi calls for protection of girl child.

Rukungiri: As children prepare to go back to school for the third term, parents have been advised to spare time for their school going girl children, if the country is to secure educated mothers.

The call was made by the Rukungiri Muslim district kadhi, Sheikh Kayole Abdul Malik Byaruhanga while speaking to our reporter in his office.

He says mothers should teach their daughters good morals and avoid giving them smartphones to limit them from accessing pornographic content.

He also warned parents against sending the girl child to trading centers during the night hours, to protect them from ill intentioned people.

Sheik Byaruhanga also advises parents with children in candidate classes to work hard and save money for pushing their children to higher education levels.

Emmanuel Arinaitwe, a parent and resident of kifungo cell in Rukungiri Municipality advises children to follow their parents’ guidance and also do work that motivates their parents to keep raising their fees.

Uganda’s Ministry of Education and sports school calendar indicates that Schools that closed second term on 25th August 2023 will open on 18^th September 2023 for third term.
