Ruhinda Sub-county Qualifies for Finals in Boda Boda Tournament.

Rukungiri: Ruhinda Sub-county has advanced to the finals from Group A in the Rujumbura Constituency Boda Boda Tournament organized by Hon. Frank Arinaitwe Rukanirwa, the hopeful Member of Parliament for Rujumbura.

This was revealed on December 7, by the head of Sports for team Rukanirwa, Benon Kanyesigye, commonly known as Political Integrity, during an interview with our reporter at Rusheshe Playground in Buhunga Sub-county, where Group A matches took place. 

According to Kanyesigye, Group A consisted of Buhunga, Nyakagyeme, and Ruhinda Sub-counties. Ruhinda Sub-county topped the group with 4 points, followed by Buhunga with 2 points, and Nyakagyeme in third place with 1 point.

Group B, which includes Bugangari, Bwambara Sub-counties, and Bikurungu and Rwerere Town Councils, will play on December 8 at Bikurungu Town Council Play ground. The teams that finish first in each group will advance directly to the finals. The second-place teams will field Legends teams, while third-place teams will present female teams for the finals. The fourth-place teams will lead the welcome drive for Hon. Frank Arinaitwe Rukanirwa during the finals at Bugangari Sub-county Playground.

Kanyesigye announced that the winning team will receive a trophy and a bull worth 2.5 million UGX, while other teams will also receive prizes.

Rukungiri District Boda Boda Chairperson Fred Karamuzi, his coordinator Hasan Kansiime-Ruhanga, and Buhunga Sub-county Boda Boda Chairperson Bernard Tutebine thanked Hon. Rukanirwa for organizing the tournament. They praised the event for inspiring youth and nurturing talent in the constituency.

Captain for Ruhinda Sub-county team Brian Ainebyoona, expressed his gratitude and urged all teams to maintain discipline and give their best effort to ensure the tournament’s success.

The finals will take place on January 5, 2025, in Bugangari Sub-county.
