Rubabo MP Rwabugumi Hosts Thanksgiving as Leaders Emphasize Service
Rukungiri: The newly sworn-in Members of Parliament for Uganda’s 12th Parliament have been urged to focus on their key responsibilities of legislation, oversight, representation, and budgeting in order to serve their constituencies effectively.
The call was made on May 14, by the Bishop of North Kigezi diocese Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe during a thanksgiving function organized by elect member of parliament for Rubabo constituency Hon Mathias Rwabugumi at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
Bishop Asiimwe said leadership comes from God and urged leaders to serve people diligently, noting that they represent God in positions of authority.
He explained that the thanksgiving reflected God’s guidance in Hon. Rwabugumi’s journey from district councilor to Member of Parliament, citing Romans 13:1 which says that all authority is established by God. He added that every new level of leadership comes with new challenges and temptations, and that greater responsibility also brings greater expectations.
