Retired Bishop Edward Muhima Urges Christians to Seek God’s Kingdom Above All Else
Rukungiri: The former Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese Emeritus Dr. Edward Muhima, has called on Christians to prioritize seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness, emphasizing that only God has the power to break the chains of evil in the world.
Bishop Muhima made these remarks on December 26, during a thanksgiving service and the grand opening of Hon. Levi Gakyaro’s residential house. The event took place yesterday at St. Paul’s Nyakabungo Parish in Nyabiteete Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.
Addressing the congregation, Bishop Muhima encouraged Christians to value their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and to embrace love for one another as a path to eternal life.
He cautioned Christians against distancing themselves from God, reiterating that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and whoever places their trust in Him will gain eternal life.
Retired Ven. Canon David Kahindi commended Hon. Levi Gakyaro for his devotion to the church and his gratitude to God. Canon Kahindi noted that while many believe wealth is the ultimate solution to life’s challenges, true fulfillment comes only through a relationship with God.
Hon. Levi Gakyaro, in his speech, expressed his deep gratitude to God, acknowledging Him as his personal Savior and guide throughout his journey and success, despite numerous challenges.
Gakyaro also used the occasion to declare his intention to run for the Rubabo Constituency Parliamentary Seat in the 2025/26 elections, appealing to Christians for their support in the forthcoming campaign.
