RDC Urges Politicians to Prioritize Service Delivery as Rukungiri Municipal Council Block Construction Begins 

Rukungiri: Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Steven Nsubuga Bewayo has called on politicians to set aside conflicts and focus on service delivery for the benefit of the community. 

Speaking as the chief guest at the launch of the construction and completion of the Rukungiri Municipal Council Administration Block on March 12, Nsubuga emphasized that citizens are more concerned about development than political disagreements. 

He assured the public that the UPDF Engineers Brigade, which is handling the project, has a strong track record of successful constructions and is the right choice for the job.

The Western Region MDA’s Project Manager representing the UPDF Engineers Brigade Yunus Jacob Tegeka, reaffirmed their commitment to completing the project within six months as planned. 

He assured the council of high-quality work and timely completion. He also encouraged local laborers to take advantage of employment opportunities, advising interested individuals to register with the site engineer through recommendations from their respective LC1 chairpersons.

Rukungiri Municipality Mayor Charles Makuru revealed that he and the Town Clerk successfully petitioned the Ministry of Finance, securing UGX 200 million for the foundation and an additional UGX 300 million for the first floor. He added that the government has committed more funding in the next financial year to ensure the project’s completion.
