North Kigezi Diocese Releases Pre-Mock Exam Results for Church of Uganda Schools
Rukungiri: The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt Rev Onesimus Asiimwe, has today released the diocesan pre-mock examination results done by secondary schools under the Church of Uganda Heads of Education Institutions Association (COUHEIA) in North Kigezi Diocese, Rukungiri District.
The function to release the results was held on May 28, at Riverside Hotel in Rukungiri Municipality. A total of 19 secondary schools under North Kigezi Diocese sat for the examinations at both O-Level and A-Level.
According to the results presented by the Chairperson of the Academic Committee, Denis Mukunzi Nyehangane, the schools performed in the following order: Rwabukoba Secondary School, Kinyasano Girls High School, Kyamakanda Secondary School, Katurika Secondary School, Kashenyi Secondary School, Makobore High School, Nyakishenyi High School, Nyakagyeme Secondary School, Rukungiri High School, Kyabugashe Secondary School, Bishop Ruhindi Secondary School, Nyakishenyi Secondary School Nangara, Bwanga Secondary School, Bwambara Secondary School, Bugangari Secondary School, Rukungiri Vocational Secondary School, Rubirizi Secondary School, Nyabiteete Secondary School, and Rubabo Vocational Secondary School.
While speaking after officiating at the release of the results, Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe urged headteachers to be good examples to teachers and students. He asked them to invest more in learners so as to improve performance in national examinations, saying this is one of the ways to increase school enrolment.
The Bishop further noted that education is very important in Uganda because it helps to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. He also called upon foundation bodies to take education seriously for the betterment of schools.

The Chairperson of COUHEIA and Headteacher of Kyamakanda Secondary School, David Turyamusima Kapira, thanked the Diocesan Education Coordinator and Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe for supporting Church of Uganda-founded schools. He said the support has motivated headteachers and improved performance, and pledged continued cooperation.

The Diocesan Education Coordinator, Rev Evas Arinaitwe, also thanked the Bishop for promoting education in the diocese. He asked headteachers to continue cooperating and encouraged them to work closely with school chaplains to maintain discipline and improve academic excellence.

The function was also attended by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev Muntrive NshabaRuhanga, who is the former Diocesan Education Coordinator, the Rukungiri District Principal Inspector of Schools, Peace Atamba, who is also a board member of COUHEIA, and headteachers of secondary schools founded by the Church of Uganda in North Kigezi Diocese.
