MP Akifeza Grace Urges Church Leaders to Preach Transformation and Support Government Programs.
Rukungiri: The Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Grace Akifeza Ngabirano , has called on church leaders to focus on preaching messages of transformation and supporting government initiatives to help eradicate poverty among Ugandans.
Akifeza made this appeal on February 16, while addressing believers of the Pentecostal faith during the consecration and enthronement of Bishop Manigaba Jonas as the Kigezi Sub-Region Overseer of Pentecostal Churches in Nyarushanje Sub-County. Hon. Grace emphasized that the government has introduced various poverty-alleviation programs such as Emyooga, the Youth Livelihood Program, and the Parish Development Model, all aimed at uplifting Ugandans living below the poverty line.
As the country approaches the election season, Hon. Grace urged church leaders to avoid promoting sectarianism or directing believers on which politicians to support based on religious affiliations. She encouraged churches to allow people the freedom to choose leaders who can best address their concerns and deliver services effectively.
