Makobore High School Receives Renovated Facilities Worth UGX 1.4 Billion

Rukungiri: Rukungiri Municipal Council has officially handed over newly renovated buildings at Makobore High School, including dormitories, a staffroom, a main hall, and toilets. The renovation project, which cost UGX 1.4 billion, was completed by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

The handover ceremony took place on March 20, at the school premises on Kinyasano Hill in Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Rukungiri Municipality Mayor Charles Makuru expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the project, commending the UPDF for delivering high-quality work. He praised their technical expertise and teamwork in renovating the school.

Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Steven Nsubuga Bewayo urged school authorities and local leaders to embrace such initiatives, noting that the improved school infrastructure would boost development in the area by increasing land value. He encouraged locals to invest in residential and commercial structures to accommodate teachers and provide essential services like food.

He also thanked Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe and Retired Major Gen. Jim Muhwezi for their support in developing the school.
