Kyamakanda Sec School Produces Rukungiri’s Best UACE Student with 20 Points
Rukungiri: Kyamakanda Secondary School in Rukungiri district has set a new record by producing the only student in the entire district who scored 20 points in the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams.
The national results were officially released on March 14, at Nakasero State House in Kampala by the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni.
Speaking to our news reporter at the school premises in Buyanja Town, the head teacher, David Kapiira Turyamusima, expressed gratitude to God for the outstanding performance. He celebrated the achievement of Melon Kyomugisha, who made history as the first student to score 20 points since the school was founded 40 years ago.
Turyamusima emphasized that in 2025, the school will implement its theme, Extra Effort to Excel, to ensure even better results in future exams. He noted that the 2024 UACE performance was a perfect way to mark the school’s 40th anniversary, which was celebrated last year.
He extended his appreciation to the school committees, teachers, parents, and students for their dedication and hard work, which contributed to this success. He also commended last year’s candidates for their commitment to achieving good results and encouraged the current candidates to work even harder to increase the number of students attaining 20 points.
