Kisoro Man Kills Wife for Refusing to Cook Food

Kisoro: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 18-year-old wife following a domestic dispute in Nyakinama Sub County, Kisoro District.

The deceased, identified as Denise Ntezimana, was a resident of Gikoro Village, Chihe Parish in Nyakinama Sub County. According to police, she was allegedly assaulted by her husband, Brian Irakiza, and died instantly on May 9, at around 4:00 PM.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the couple had been married for only one month and were living together. Ntezimana was reportedly working as a barmaid.

Kigezi Region Police spokesperson Elly Maate stated that the altercation began when Ntezimana allegedly refused to cook food for her husband, sparking a violent confrontation that led to her death.

Police are continuing with investigations as the suspect remains in custody.
