Innocent Turyahabwe Sworn In as Bugangari Sub-county LC3 Chairperson

Rukungiri: Innocent Turyahabwe commonly known as Kaino has officially been sworn in as the LC3 Chairperson of Bugangari Sub-county in Rujumbura Constituency, Rukungiri District.

The swearing-in ceremony was held on May 28 at the Bugangari Sub-county headquarters in Rujumbura Constituency.

Turyahabwe, who also serves as the Rukungiri District Chairperson of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), thanked voters for supporting him during the elections. He pledged to work together with parish councillors to ensure better service delivery to the people.

He also urged councillors to cooperate and work together for the development of Bugangari Sub-county.

The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Rukungiri District, Hillary Agaba, presided over the election of the Speaker from the 23 sworn-in councillors.

Moses Kanyesingye contested against Midius Tumuhairwe for the position of Speaker. After voting, Moses Kanyesingye was declared Speaker of Bugangari Sub-county after securing 13 votes against Midius Tumuhairwe’s 10 votes.

Edward Atwebembere was elected Deputy Speaker after getting 16 votes against Karegabo, who received 7 votes.

Chairperson Innocent Turyahabwe also appointed members to his executive committee. Vincent Babigambe was appointed Secretary for Production and Works, Midius Tumuhairwe was appointed Secretary for Finance, while Patson Karuhanga was appointed Secretary for Social Services.
