Gadi Kasigazi and Tumuhimbise Gaude Celebrate 40 Years of Marriage.

Rukungiri: Gadi Kasigazi and his wife, Gaude Tumuhimbise Kasigazi, residents of Rwakabengo B cell, Rwakabengo ward in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. 

The celebrations on December 26, began with a thanksgiving service at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano Church of Uganda in Rukungiri Municipality and continued at their home in Rwakabengo. 

In an interview with our reporter, Gadi Kasigazi, a retired head teacher, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life, their children, and the strength to endure four decades of marriage. Despite facing challenges such as accusations, imprisonment, illnesses, and hostility from some people, the couple has remained united. 

Kasigazi advised young couples to appreciate each other, understand and accept their partner’s weaknesses, maintain financial discipline, and communicate effectively. He also discouraged the growing trend of DNA testing for children, emphasizing that the focus should be on nurturing children, regardless of their origins, as they could become valuable members of society in the future. 

The Municipal Councilor for Rwakabengo Ward Gaude Tumuhimbise Kasigazi, attributed their successful marriage to God’s grace, patience, and effective communication. She noted that issues like arrogance, infidelity, financial irresponsibility, lack of counseling, and early marriages have contributed to the breakdown of many marriages, especially among highly educated couples. She urged men and women to show love and care for their spouses. 

The couple has been blessed with ten children, five sons and five daughters. 

During the thanksgiving service, the Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, the Very Rev. Amasiko Niwegariho, called on Christians to raise their children with Christian values to instill good behavior. He also advised people to be cautious about their associations, noting that not everyone will support their successes and that hatred often stems from baseless reasons.
