Rukungiri: Christians of Yakobo Orikwera Buhandangazi Church of Uganda under Nyabiteete Archdeaconry have donated a brand new Toyota Noah registration number UBA 232DA worth UGX 44 million to the church to support ministry and pastoral work.

The handover ceremony took place on May 1, at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandangazi Church of Uganda in Nyabiteete Parish, Buyanja Sub-county, Rukungiri District, where the Parish Priest, Rev. Saison Gumisiriza, received the vehicle on behalf of the church with gratitude and emotion.

Speaking during the ceremony, Rev. Gumisiriza clarified that the Toyota Noah was not funded by Christians from the Church of Uganda alone, noting that believers and well-wishers from different regions and denominations also contributed towards its purchase.

He thanked all the contributors for their generosity and unity, and encouraged continued cooperation among churches to advance God’s work beyond denominational lines.

The Diocesan Missions Coordinator of North Kigezi Diocese, Rev. Julius Niwagaba commonly known as Tengyeta, who represented the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, called on Christians to continue supporting church leaders and church development, saying unity and cooperation are important for the growth of both the church and the community.

Rev. Niwagaba also urged Christians to remain committed to prayer, emphasizing that prayer is the source of power and success in life.

The Head of Laity at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandangazi Church of Uganda, Benon Tugume, commended Rev. Saison for his outstanding service and dedication to the growth of the church.

Tugume said the vehicle was donated to support church activities and ministry work, adding that it also reflects the Christians’ appreciation for Rev. Saison’s commitment and faithful service. He added that Christians at Yakobo Orikwera maintain a strong and respectful relationship with their parish priest, describing it as an important way of supporting his ministry.
