Buyanja Sub County Council Holds First Meeting in New Headquarters

Rukungiri: Buyanja Sub County Council has held its first meeting in the newly constructed headquarters at Buhandagazi Trading Center, Nyabiteete Parish, in Rukungiri District. The session took place on March25.

The new headquarters were built after Buyanja Town Council took over the former Sub County offices following the division of Buyanja Sub County into Buyanja Town Council and Buyanja Sub County by the central government. This forced the relocation of the Sub County offices to Buhandagazi Trading Center.

During the meeting, the council presented the 2025-2026 budget worth UGX 182,122,099. According to the Secretary for Finance Edward Turyomunsi, these funds will be allocated to various departments, including administration, finance, council, health, education, and natural resources. He added that the budget is yet to be approved and will be discussed further in the next meeting before final approval.
