SC Villa were on Saturday May 18, 2024 crowned the winners of 2023-2024 Uganda Premier League (UPL) season.
The grand milestone came shortly after defeating NEC 2-0 away at Philip Omondi stadium.
SC Villa under the management of Dusan Stojanovic have now claimed the 17th title – and their first in 20 years.
The jogoo’s have won the title with 57 points, just one point above Bul FC and Vipers whose efforts didn’t eventually yielded the much deserved results.
Sports Club Villa stands as Uganda’s most successful football club, boasting a storied legacy that spans over 45 years.
Established in 1975 under the name Nakivubo Boys, the club has amassed an impressive record of 16 league titles and even made it to the finals of the African Continental Club Championship.
During the 1980s and 1990s, SC Villa achieved significant milestones by becoming the first Ugandan club to consecutively participate in continental club football and successfully transfer a player, Magid Musisi, directly to Europe.
