Rukungiri RDC Approves Repairs of Defective Works at Mitooma Primary School
Rukungiri: Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Bron Kikanshemeza has approved the repair works on defects and shoddy construction at Mitooma Primary School in Nyakagyeme Sub-County, Rukungiri District.
This follows a directive by the Minister of Security and Rujumbura County Member of Parliament, Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, and RDC Kikanshemeza, who last month instructed the district engineer, Julius Bagyira, to ensure that all the identified defects were repaired.
The defects were found in a newly constructed two-classroom block and other school facilities. They included cracks on the veranda, school water tank, office floor and toilet.
The contractor, Nshabire Nyaruzinga Construction Company, was directed to repair the defects immediately.
While inspecting the repairs at the school in Kahoko Parish on October 13, Kikanshemeza said the work had been done well. He urged engineers to closely supervise government projects to ensure quality work and prevent similar incidents in the future.
