Rukungiri Traders SACCO Leaders Urged to Seek Financial Guidance and Engage in Politics 

Rukungiri: Leaders of the Rukungiri District Traders Development SACCO have been advised to seek guidance from technical experts, such as the district commercial officer, to access microfinance options with low-interest rates.

This was revealed February 28, by the hopeful mayor for Rukungiri municipality Boaz Kansiime Matiita during the 5th annual general meeting which was held at River side hotel in Rukungiri municipality.

Additionally, Matiita encouraged business leaders to participate in politics as a way to have a voice in decision-making processes that are influenced by government policies and regulations. It was emphasized that by actively engaging in politics, business owners can ensure their interests are represented and contribute to shaping policies that benefit their industries.

The Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Dr. Elisa Rutahirwa who was the guest of honor, urged SACCO leaders to work together and remain committed to their goals. He noted that new members could play a key role in driving the SACCO’s progress and creating a better future for its members. 

The outgoing board chairperson Corsestom Byaruhanga Rwakana, highlighted that the association started in 2020 with 118 members, a number that has since grown to 254. He encouraged the new chairman and board members to work hard, be transparent, and ensure the continued growth and success of the SACCO.
