Hon. Andrew Ankunda Kikira Urges Christians to Embrace Farming for Prosperity 

Rukungiri: The hopeful Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality Hon. Andrew Ankunda Kikira, has encouraged Christians to engage in productive activities such as coffee and banana farming. 

Ankunda made this call on March 21, during a thanksgiving ceremony for Wilber Kabumburi and his wife Sarah, held at their home in Kifunjo Village, Kitaziguruka, Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality. The event was attended by Christians from Kafunjo Cell. 

Ankunda emphasized the importance of hard work and responsible stewardship, urging believers to be productive so they can have enough to share with God during harvest time. He encouraged them to cultivate a spirit of generosity, giving to God from their resources to receive more blessings.

Rev. Canon Justus Kamuhangire from Nyarutare Rubanga in the Kyamakanda Archdeaconry, who preached at the function, thanked Kafunjo Cell Christians and Wilber’s family for their generosity. He highlighted the importance of gratitude, reminding the congregation to thank God while they still can as a testament to their faith journey.

Meanwhile, an aspiring mayor for Rukungiri Municipality Hon. Boaz Matita, urged church leaders to encourage their congregations to work hard, especially during the harvest season. He stressed that diligence helps families provide for themselves and contribute to the church through offerings.
