Bikurungu Boda Boda Stage C Qualifies for Country Radio Festival Round of 16

Rukungiri: Bikurungu Boda Boda Stage C has qualified for the round of 16 at the district level of the Country Radio Boda Boda Festival Rukungiri 2026.

The team secured qualification after defeating Bikurungu Boda Boda Stage A in the final of the Bikurungu Town Council qualifiers.

The matches were held today at Bikurungu Town Council playground in Rukungiri District, where four Boda Boda stages from the town council participated in the qualifiers.

The other teams that participated were Bikurungu Boda Boda Stage G and Bikurungu Boda Boda Modern Stage.

Bikurungu Boda Boda Stage C and Stage A later advanced to the final, where Stage C emerged victorious after scoring 3-2.

The Country Radio Boda Boda Festival will take place on November 28, 2026, at Rukungiri Main Stadium.

The captain of Bikurungu Boda Boda Stage C, Perfect Niwagaba, expressed happiness after his team qualified for the district level. Niwagaba said the team is ready to represent Bikurungu Town Council and warned other teams to prepare for a strong challenge.

The Vice Chairperson of Bikurungu Town Council Boda Boda Riders, Johnson Nkuriye Tumubwine, thanked Country Radio for organizing the tournament and involving Boda Boda riders. He pledged to attend the grand event in person on November 28 at Rukungiri Main Stadium.

The coach of Bikurungu Town Council FC and senior referee, Abdul Niyetegeka Tooti, said sports activities help keep people busy and reduce time spent on alcohol, gambling and other harmful activities.

He said such tournaments also give people an opportunity to come together and enjoy sports.
