Desist from adultery- Bishop Asiimwe tells religious leaders
Rukungiri: The Bishop of North Kigezi diocese Rt Rev Onesmus Asiimwe has condemned the habbit of adultery among some clergy men.
Bishop Asiimwe was on Wednesday preaching at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi COU parish, in Nyabitete archdeaconry, Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri district.
In his message derived from the gospel of St. John 8:1, the bishop said Jesus didn’t condemn the prostitute whom the public had wanted to stone, after they also realized they were sinners. He therefore called on all Christians to check themselves and repent of whatever sin that has entangled them.
The bishop also expressed concern about the church leaders including the clergy who have indulged in adultery, calling on them to repent as well.
Bishop Asiimwe hailed the Christians of Buhandagazi for being orderly, and also expressing a spirit of love to him.
He confirmed a total of 64 individuals into the Anglican faith. Also in the same service, hundreds of people accepted Jesus as lord and savior.
