Rukungiri Hotels Given Seven Days to Improve Sanitation

Rukungiri: Hotels and Lodges in Rukungiri Municipality have been given seven days to improve sanitation after municipal health inspectors discovered several public health violations during a joint inspection conducted on July 22.

The operation was led by Municipal Health Inspector Evas Asiimwe, together with environmental health officers and health assistants from all divisions of the municipality. The inspection focused on poor wastewater management, unhygienic conditions and improper waste disposal.

Speaking to our reporter, Asiimwe said several establishments were found with poorly managed wastewater, dirty kitchens, cooks without protective uniforms and improperly disposed of garbage. The inspection team issued nuisance notices, giving the owners seven days to correct the identified problems.
