Tiberondwa Urges Men to Support Women in Proper Use of PDM Funds
Rukungiri: The aspiring Mayor for Kebisoni Town Council and NRM flag bearer, Leonard Muhunguzi Tiberondwa, has urged men to support their wives in using the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds appropriately to promote better financial decisions and increase household income.
His remarks come after Stuart Tugeineyo, the Parish Chief for Northern Ward, Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District, expressed concern that PDM funds are not being properly utilized, preventing them from benefiting the intended recipients.
In an interview with our news reporter, Tugeineyo advised residents to be cautious about taking on debt without a clear repayment plan, noting that doing so can help families manage their finances better and avoid potential financial hardship, especially since many have not yet received the PDM funds.
He revealed that changes have been made in the implementation of PDM, explaining that in the past, beneficiaries would receive money and spend it within a week. This time, he said, beneficiaries will first undergo training on how to effectively use the funds.

On his part, the aspring mayor for Kebisoni Town Council, Tiberondwa criticized the government for releasing PDM funds to communities without first sensitizing them, which he said caused mismanagement of the money.
He added that some families failed to plan together on how to use the funds, resulting in domestic violence, as some men forcibly took money from their wives after they received it.
