Thousands Bid Farewell to Singer Happi Free Man.
Rukungiri: Thousands of mourners on Thursday July 25, 2024 gathered in Nkanga Village, Ndere Parish, Ruhinda Sub County, Rujumbura County, Rukungiri District, to bid farewell to singer Akampuriira Mathius, also known as Happi Free Man.
Speaking to mouners, Stephen Mugisha who has been his manager and director of MS Tours and Travel Services, eulogized the deceased as a quick learner, obedient, humble, and accountable.
Mugisha urged all media houses to continue promoting Freeman’s music despite his demise and promised to support his music where needed.
Speaking at the same event, the musicians representative, Andiinda Malex Mandela, also known as M-Zedek, appealed to mourners to recognize and appreciate people while they are still alive.
M-Zedek expressed concern that many comments and followers came only after Freeman’s death. He criticized media practitioners, promoters, and presenters who show their love only posthumously and advocated for love and support to one another.
Presiding over the requiem mass, the Nyakibare Parish, parish priest Rev. Fr. Conrad Atuheire urged mourners to always be prepared for death, as life is short. He also challenged parents to support their children if they are to succeed them in the future.
The Humura hit maker breathed his last at 32 years of age on late Monday night of this week at Mulago’s Kiruudu hospital after losing his battle to heart failure.
