Rukungiri: The Senior Presidential Advisor for Agriculture and Local People, Peace Rugambwa, has donated 10 heifers to residents of Rukungiri District as part of her plan to distribute a total of 150 cows to locals across the district.
The handover ceremony took place today November 8, at Rendezvous Hotel in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, during a general meeting of Boonabagigahare Sub-County Coordinators.
According to Peace Rugambwa, four cows were given to beneficiaries within the municipality, two in Ruhinda Sub-County, two in Bugangari Sub-County including one beneficiary aged eight years and two in Buyanja Sub-County. She added that she is committed to donating more cows to reach her target of 150, which will be distributed across the district.

Rugambwa also revealed plans to add pigs and poultry to the donation program as a way of boosting household incomes in Rukungiri and other parts of Southwestern Uganda, where she is mandated to mobilize support for President Yoweri Museveni ahead of the January 2026 elections.
She explained that her motivation is to eradicate poverty among Ugandans, noting that she once faced similar challenges. She urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the cows and other donated items, and to share calves and piglets with others in their communities.
Rugambwa further announced that next week, she will launch the distribution of coffee seedlings and an ambulance in Bwambara Sub-County.
