
Rukungiri Woman MP Aspirant Annah Niwagaba tips Bwambara residents on Handcrafts.
Rukungiri: The Rukungiri district aspiring Woman Member of Parliament Annah Niwagaba Tumuramye has urged residents of Kafujo cell in Rwenshama Parish, Bwambara sub-county to engage in handcrafts as a way of improving their household incomes.
Niwagaba made the call on Monday ,July 7, 2025 while addressing her supporters on a campaign trail at Kafujo trading center.
She said handcrafts can play a critical role in supplementing other sources of income in homes.
“Rwenshama parish receives many tourists. Once you make crafts, you are rest assured that your items will have a market and eventually money. I urge you to engage in handcraft because there is a market.”
Niwagaba further rallied residents to embrace cocoa growing which she says will diversify their income streams.
Meanwhile residents informed the aspiring Woman MP (Niwagaba) of the broken services including poor roads, water scarcity, crippling health and education facilities among others.
While responding to the residents concerns, Niwagaba promised to be people’s voice once elected into the office of Rukungiri Woman Member of Parliament.
She said critical sectors have remained behind because they are not presented well on the Parliamentary floor.
Niwagaba asked residents to elect leaders who are not selfish but people centered.
Residents including Bernard Musasizi , Dan Kwijuka and Amzan Ahimbisbwe who is the working speaker of Bwambara sub-county pledged to support Niwagaba in the upcoming elections.
They revealed that they want to vote out leaders who have offered them nothing apart from empty promises.
