Rukungiri mother struggles to fend for her quadruplets.
Rukungiri: Kyomugisha Mary is struggling to fend for her quadruplets.
Kyomugisha 33, a mother of 5 and a resident of Kiteme village, Ihunga parish, Nyarushanje sub-county, Rukungiri district shared to our reporter about her painful story that she gave birth to her first born normally, followed by quadruplets.
Kyomugisha who is just five years old in marriage gave birth to these quadruplets on 8th Jan 2022 by cesarean means when her pregnancy was 7 months. She had been admitted at Kisiizi hospital, in Nyarushanje sub county, Rukungiri district where paid 1.8 million shillings in hospital bills.
She intimated that a few months after giving birth, her husband Asiimwe Alikangiro disappeared. According to Kyomugisha, that was like the beginning of her painful journey because she started receiving mistreatment from her co-wife with whom they shared the same compound.
Fearing for her life and children, Kyomugisha, a casual labourer, started renting but she is now finding it hard to raise money for rent and other basic necessities like food and clothes for her children since the husband who was the breadwinner abandoned them and has never returned back.
She now appeals to government, Civil Society organisations and good Samaritans to give her a helping hand in raising her children.
