Rukungiri farmers to receive apple seedlings from NAADs
Rukungiri: About 1000 Rukungiri farmers are to receive apple seedlings from the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS).
This is indicated in the call – off order that was issued on 5th October 2023.
According to the call – off order, there are 14,000 apple seedlings that will be distributed to farmers by Bamwe Agro technologies limited.
According to principle Agricultural officer for Rukungiri district , Oneck Pius Kwesiga, the priority will be given to farmers that applied for apple seedlings in the last season and those who want to do gap filling as well as expanding their gardens.
Kwesiga further revealed that apple seedlings will be given to farmers with enough land and are still interested in apple farming.
He advised farmers that applied for apple seedlings last season to inform their agricultural extension workers in their sub counties and get their seedlings not later than 30th October 2023.
