Rukungiri District Media Practitioners Association Members receive goats to fight poverty.

Rukungiri: A total 39 members of Rukungiri district media practitioners association (RDMPA) have each received a goat from the association as a way of fighting poverty.

The association bought goats for its members from their monthly savings to enhance individual economic status.

While handing over goats to the association members during a an event held at Rukungiri inn in Rukungiri Municipality on Sunday September 1, 2024, Boaz Kansiime Matita the aspiring Mayor Rukungiri Municipality who was the chief guest appreciated the Unity of Journalists in Rukungiri district and challenged them to keep up this spirit if they are to improve on their well being.

Kansiime also Urged members to be creative and start up projects along side their jobs if they are to have a successful future and contributed two millions to their association. 

The Rubabo county legislator Hon Naboth Namanya tasked members to be innovative , identify the problems in their communities and start something to earn a living. 

Hon Namanya told Journalist to identify problems and turn them into opportunities. 

The RDMPA chairperson Isaac Bernard Tushabe on his part revealed that the association’s major goal is to fight poverty and share knowledge on how media practitioners can improve on their services to the citizens.
