Rotary Club Rukungiri Plants Over 1,000 Trees at Makobore High School to Boost Environmental Conservation.

Rukungiri: Rotary Club of Rukungiri has launched an environmental conservation initiative by planting over 1,000 trees at Makobore High School.

Speaking during the tree-planting event on October 17, 2024 Rotary Club President Saul Katazahansi emphasized that the project, dubbed “Plant the Balance”, aims to improve the local climate. He urged the school community to protect the newly planted trees and encouraged other institutions with large tracts of land to partner with Rotary for tree planting.

Katazahansi also called on the people of Rukungiri to join the Rotary Club to further support such initiatives.

Makobore High School’s Deputy Headteacher, Denis Mwesigwa, commended Rotary Club Rukungiri for the tree-planting effort. He noted that the trees will benefit the school by providing firewood in the future and contributing to environmental conservation.
