Residents Urged to Embrace Love as Preparation for Life After Death
Rukungiri: Residents have been encouraged to embrace love for one another as a way of preparing for life after death.
This call was made on November 6, 2024 by Rev. Nathan Muhumuza while preaching at the burial ceremony of Evans Ariho in Kaata Cell, Nyabiteete Parish, Buyanja Sub county in Rukungiri District.
Rev. Muhumuza emphasized the importance of love and unity, reminding the congregation that everyone relies on each other in life. He urged people to abandon harmful behaviors like witchcraft and alcoholism, which erode human integrity.
LC3 Chairperson for Buyanja Sub county, Agaba Emmy Rubondo offered words of comfort to the grieving family and expressed concern about the negative influence of alcohol and early exposure to sexual activities on young people, which he said is harming their future.
The mother of the late Evans Ariho, Proviah Abaho, described her son as a hardworking man and a passionate football enthusiast who spent much of his time watching the sport. She noted that he had been struggling with intestinal obstruction for a long time, experiencing periodic sickness and recovery during hospital admissions. She praised him as a good son to both his family and the community.
Evans Ariho, 38, succumbed to intestinal obstruction at Doctor’s Case Clinic in Rukungiri Municipality.
