Property worth millions lost as property catches fire in Buhandagazi.

Rukungiri:Property worth millions has been burnt to ashes in Buhandagazi cell, Nyabiteete parish, Buyanja Sub-county Rukungiri district leaving area residents in great shock.

The fire that started at around 01:00pm on Wednesday 30th August 2023 is said to have originated from the garden of one the residents only identified as Fudeeri who was burning dry grasses. He failed to control the fire that spread to the neighbouring areas.

The area LC1 chairperson Wilson Bihamire confirmed the development and said that the fire caused a big loss to the residents.

Eye witnesses told our reporter that they tried to put off fire but failed because of its magnitude.

Kurineriyo Tibeijuka one of the residents whose property was set ablaze explained that he got shocked when he was told that his house, latrine and banana plantation were destroyed by fire.
