
Parents Urged to Uphold Discipline, Unity, and Truthfulness for Children’s Better Future
Rukungiri: Parents have been encouraged to uphold discipline, unity, and truthfulness at home as a good example for their children.
This message was delivered on October 11, by the headteacher of Nyabiteete Secondary School, Epaphrus Sabiiti, during the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) meeting held at the school in Nyabiteete Parish, Buyanja Sub county.
Sabiiti thanked parents for attending the meeting and appreciated them for trusting the school with their children. He noted that during the last meeting, he served as the deputy headteacher, but he is now the substantive headteacher effective from 21st July 2025.
He revealed that the school is planning to construct a girls’ dormitory to provide a safe and supportive environment that will encourage girls to stay in school and pursue their education. He also mentioned that the school currently has an enrollment of 710 students.

The LC3 Chairperson NRM flag bearer for Buyanja Sub County and PTA chairperson at the school, Salary Beinomugisha, commended the headteacher for his commitment and urged continued cooperation between teachers and parents to ensure quality education. He encouraged parents to take full responsibility for their children by providing school fees, textbooks, and other learning materials.
Beinomugisha also emphasized that education is the key to a better future and thanked the government for supporting schools to help children access education. He called upon parents to keep supporting the school, saying their contributions are vital in complementing government efforts to deliver quality education.
The aspiring Member of Parliament for Rubabo County, Alex Bob Rugonde, advised women to respect their husbands, emphasizing that respect in marriage builds trust and understanding. He also urged parents to instill moral values and cultural discipline in their children, saying it is essential for their development and future contribution to society. Rugonde further encouraged parents to support the headteacher and staff to elevate the school to greater heights.
The LCIII Chairperson for Buyanja Sub-County, Emmy Rubondo, also appealed to parents to teach their children discipline and set a good example at home. He urged parents to take full responsibility for their children’s needs, including school fees and materials, and to guide them to respect their teachers and other leaders.
