Nyabikuuku SACCO Officially Launched to Boost Financial Services for Boda Boda Riders

Rukungiri: Nyabikuuku SACCO has officially been launched in a milestone aimed at enhancing its operations and improving service delivery.

The launch took place on May 30, at the Nyabikuuku SACCO office located in Nyabikuuku Trading Centre, Nyabikuuku Cell, Rushasha Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub-county, Rukungiri District.

Following the launch, a fundraising event was held to support the SACCO’s growth. During the event, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Rujumbura County Frank Arinaitwe Rukanirwa, advised boda boda riders to diversify their income sources. He noted that relying solely on riding limits their financial potential.

Arinaitwe emphasized the importance of financial planning and proper money management. He said this would help boda boda riders improve their incomes and better support their children’s education and overall well-being.

The chairperson of Nyabikuuku SACCO, Julius Kakuru, revealed that the SACCO was initiated in 2018 by a group of boda boda riders with support from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He said the SACCO’s goal is to offer financial support to its members, especially through boda boda loans, to help them improve their businesses and livelihoods.

He reported that the SACCO currently has UGX 30 million in savings.

During the fundraising, more than UGX 3000,000 was raised to boost the SACCO’s operations.
