Nebbi Pilgrims arrive at Namugongo ahead of Martyrs day.
Kampala: Over 540 pilgrims from Nebbi catholic diocese have arrived at Namugongo completing their journey of 500 Kilometers which they trekked for two weeks.
They were received by the new Archbishop for Gulu archdiocese The Most Rt Rev Raphael p’Mony Wokorach, of the Combonian Missionary of the Heart of Jesus who has been the Bishop of Nebbi Catholic Diocese.
The Nebbi Catholic Diocese will lead the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations , slated for June 3rd 2024.
They last led Martyrs day celebrations in 2007.
About 1.3 million pilgrims are expected to be at Namugongo catholic shrine by 3rd June.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to be the guest of honor at the celebrations.
