Kebisoni SACCO Marks 25 Years with Strong Growth at 23rd Annual General Meeting
Rukungiri: The Principal Commercial Officer for Rukungiri District, Calorine Atuheire, has praised Kebisoni SACCO for its strong performance and sustainability, attributing its success to good leadership and proper management.
She made the remarks on March 28, during the 23rd Annual General Meeting of Kebisoni SACCO held at its headquarters in Kebisoni Town Council Rukungiri district. The meeting also marked 25 years of the SACCO’s existence since its establishment on 7 March 2001.
Atuheire said the district is proud of the SACCO, noting that many SACCOs have collapsed due to poor management, but Kebisoni has remained strong. She urged the board to continue safeguarding members’ money and to train delegates to promote the SACCO and improve its marketing.
The Chairperson of the Board, Rev Father Safari Emmanuel, thanked members for trusting him to lead the SACCO for 25 years, describing the journey as one of great achievements. He called on the board to strengthen efforts in protecting members’ savings and improving member sensitization on the importance of saving.
Fr Emmanuel revealed that in 2025, the SACCO registered significant growth, including 33.3% in savings, 20.4% in shares, 33.2% in its loan portfolio, and a 60.8% surplus. The SACCO also recruited 1,840 new members compared to 2024.
However, he noted challenges such as dormant accounts, loan defaulters, low share ownership among members, and a weak saving culture. Fr Emmanuel urged delegates to educate members on the benefits of saving to ensure the SACCO’s sustainability.
The SACCO General Manager, Advin Ainembabazi, appreciated members and the board for their continued support and commitment. She reported a surplus of UGX 2,395,014,338, a loan portfolio of UGX 17,376,258,220, savings of UGX 6,306,122,755, and share capital of UGX 3,474,967,753.
Ainembabazi encouraged members to continue working together by increasing their savings, buying more shares, and utilizing the SACCO’s loan services, which include various products aimed at improving livelihoods.
Meanwhile, the Marketing Manager, Amos Akampurira, said the SACCO offers affordable loans with low interest rates and pays interest on members’ savings. He highlighted loan products such as school fees loans, agricultural loans, and boda boda loans for the youth, all aimed at improving household incomes and community development.
